The Legal Catalyst is a modern, creator-focused legal service designed to empower content creators, influencers, digital entrepreneurs, and agencies in South Africa. The brand simplifies complex legal concepts, protects creators from exploitation, and equips them to negotiate confidently in a fast-moving digital economy. We are a bridge between law and the creator economy - a niche that is underserved, misunderstood, and rapidly evolving.
PROBLEM
Legal Catalyst needed support refining their existing brand identity. The main challenge was improving the logo by selecting a font that felt professional and cohesive, as well as creating logo variations for flexible use across different platforms.
SOLUTION
I enhanced Legal Catalyst’s visual identity by refining their logo and creating flexible logo variations suitable for multiple platforms and use cases. To maintain consistency moving forward, I developed a detailed brand guideline that defines the brand’s tone, imagery, logo usage, colour palette, and typography. This provided a clear framework for future design work and collaboration, ensuring a cohesive and professional brand presence across all touchpoints.

Pen Nib + Camera Aperture
Symbolism:
• Pen nib = law, drafting, contracts.
• Aperture = creators, cameras, platforms.
• Shield shape = protection of rights.
Symbolism:

How it reads for creators / agencies:
Creative people immediately recognise the camera metaphor; agencies see the legal pen. It’s poetic and unique — not a typical “scale” icon.
